5 Go mad in Denmark..

We had a little practice session in Denmark before the Super sessions really kicked off after the contest.
Myself, Swift, Ross and Proffitt all had a crak at some pushloop forwards, i'd tried them quite a lot 2 years ago and kinda backed off them, but motivation was high and i had a couple of ideas to improve them, the results you'll have to see for yourselves.. follow the link below the picture..

The practice obviously helped me a bit as i made the Super Session final later that afternoon.. good fun.. if a little painful on the odd crash!!

Cold Hawaii is over for now...

The First ever PWA Cold Hawaii Denmark event is now over... It was a fantastic event with lots of positive things coming out of the event, the best thing of all was we got 6 days of sailing out of 7!

The official contest saw 5.0 and 5.3 weather on our 80+ big boards, with swells of head to occasionally logo high, generally from the side to side onshore direction.
Klitmoller is a tricky place to sail as it takes some experience to get the best out of the waves here.
I was knocked out of the single elimination by Robby Swift and then in the double by local hero Kenneth Danielsen, he was ripping!
I didn't do a huge amount wrong, i could have had slightly better waves but given the conditions i had i made reasonable use of them, just losing out by small margins both times...
After the main event finished the wind switched round to the west and kicked off properly! it was full power 4.0 and big waves.
We had 2 Super sessions in the bay, the JP boys showed they were outstanding! Swift, Ricardo, Kauli all nailing pushloop forwards and big ass doubles!
i made the second super session final with my doubles and pushloop forward efforts but the brazilian claimed biggest honours with a dry pushy forward! it was pretty stunning, and to have a view of it from sailing around with them that i had made it look even better!
There's been a couple of days free sailing since the event now and i'm just trying to tune up and get used to my big gear for Sylt and hope things go my way there!
with 2 events remaining there's still time to pull things back a little but now no margin for error!

Cold Hawaii denmark PWA world cup

The 2nd event of the year has begun... a no wind affair today, but, it looks really promising for the week ahead!

The best thing about it is it's been superbly organised and for you guys that aren't here you can practically be here!!  There's a continuous Live Webcam of the event and the conditions, even better there will be Live Streaming Video with commentary once the event kicks off!
Not only that there's all kinds of interviews and info on the site, you should definitely check it out!

It's all good... nice work Robert for doing such a good job!

Total Wipeout!!!

Ha Ha Ha!!!!

I know it was the National Windsurfing Festival this weekend and i did really want to go, but, there's certain things you really can't miss out on!!
Back in February i was watching Total Wipeout on TV and i thought, i've had a go at loads of awesome things and this is one of those i can't miss! so i submitted my application online and didn't here anything?
two weeks ago i got an Email asking me to come to the audition for the filming of new series 4 and series 5 of Total Wipeout!!!  Awesome!!
It was really funny and incredibly embarrassing at the same time, some brilliant costumes!... there was way too much Whooping and Yeehaaing for me but i got into it! I think if my shout out goes on national TV i might move to Siberia or somewhere!
Anyway, there was perhaps 200 people called for the morning session i did and they whittle the numbers down through a series of interviews, basic physical tests and shout outs to the camera and so on.
At the end of it all, i made it to the list where they now go away look at the remainder and start choosing there contestants!  it's been going on at 4 locations around the UK so there's going to be loads of people on that list and the chance of getting on the plane to Argentina to film the show are still pretty small in my opinion but, you never know?!!  They did say if you've not heard anything until january then you're probably not in!
Wouldn't it be awesome though?!!
