The First ever PWA Cold Hawaii Denmark event is now over... It was a fantastic event with lots of positive things coming out of the event, the best thing of all was we got 6 days of sailing out of 7!
The official contest saw 5.0 and 5.3 weather on our 80+ big boards, with swells of head to occasionally logo high, generally from the side to side onshore direction.
Klitmoller is a tricky place to sail as it takes some experience to get the best out of the waves here.
I was knocked out of the single elimination by Robby Swift and then in the double by local hero Kenneth Danielsen, he was ripping!
I didn't do a huge amount wrong, i could have had slightly better waves but given the conditions i had i made reasonable use of them, just losing out by small margins both times...
After the main event finished the wind switched round to the west and kicked off properly! it was full power 4.0 and big waves.
We had 2 Super sessions in the bay, the JP boys showed they were outstanding! Swift, Ricardo, Kauli all nailing pushloop forwards and big ass doubles!
i made the second super session final with my doubles and pushloop forward efforts but the brazilian claimed biggest honours with a dry pushy forward! it was pretty stunning, and to have a view of it from sailing around with them that i had made it look even better!
There's been a couple of days free sailing since the event now and i'm just trying to tune up and get used to my big gear for Sylt and hope things go my way there!
with 2 events remaining there's still time to pull things back a little but now no margin for error!
